↳ USER REPORT

A subtraction question becomes a telephone lookup.

A screenshot shows Siri interpreting “713-461” as a telephone prefix instead of subtraction, then returning an error after clarification. The author describes intermittent results; many replies get the correct answer.

The record

u/micahdotjohnson shares a screenshot in which “Siri what is 713-461” produces an explanation of a Houston telephone exchange. A follow-up explicitly saying “713 minus 461” receives “Something went wrong. Please try again.” In replies, the author says the first request was spoken and the second typed, and that the same calculation sometimes succeeds. Many commenters report getting 252, while some describe similar interpretation problems. This records the submitted exchange and the author’s account, not a reproducible failure across devices. The device and software build are not identified.
