The record

In its iOS 15 preview Apple said Siri speech would be handled on the device by default, which it said would bring large speed gains. The release limited this to iPhone and iPad models with the A12 Bionic or later and required speech models to be downloaded. Apple also said Siri could announce notifications through AirPods and share on-screen content. HomeKit accessory makers could build Hey Siri into products that route requests through a HomePod. This entry records an announcement, not independent testing.
