The record

Apple announced HomePod as a music-first speaker with Siri built in. The release described a six-microphone array meant to hear Hey Siri across a room during playback, plus music questions, shared queues, messages, news, weather and HomeKit control. Apple said audio went to its servers only after Hey Siri was recognized on the device. The company planned a December 2017 launch in the US, UK and Australia. This entry records an announcement, not independent testing.
